Promoting a broad-reaching awareness of Asian American and Pacific Islanders political issues and active presence on this campus

Fostering cultural understanding in the campus community as a whole, bridging gaps between Asian American and Pacific Islanders and all peoples of this university

Vision Statement

AAA envisions an inclusive and diverse community, at Indiana University and throughout the Midwest, that celebrates, educates, and embraces Asian American and Pacific Islander cultures. AAA strives to foster an environment where members feel welcomed and encouraged to positively contribute to their self-development, the community, and beyond.

AAA aims to embody these five core beliefs in our programming:

  1. Inclusivity: We strive to create a welcoming, safe and accessible environment where members can feel free to express themselves.
  2. Community: We seek to facilitate bonds that allow members to feel a sense of belonging and pride, while respecting each other.
  3. Diversity: We celebrate, uplift, and accept everyone of all backgrounds and identities.
  4. Advocacy: We aim to teach about AAPI experiences, cultures, and political issues, while providing a platform to uplift AAPI voices.
  5. Opportunity: We provide opportunities for members to learn and grow culturally, professionally, and socially.
